Madeline B. ‘Midge’ Woodworth of Bethel Twp.
Madeline B. “Midge” Woodworth, 91, of Bethel Twp., died Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Midge was born and raised in Landenberg, and graduated from Kennett High School. She was the daughter of the late George “Bacchus” and Marguerite (Martin) Bailey. As a homemaker and mother of seven children, she was also an active member of Siloam United Methodist Church. She enjoyed oil painting and playing tennis, however her true joys were her home, her family and her Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Hayden Woodworth who died in 1978, 11 siblings, and two sons-in-law. Survivors include her children, Gail Mann, Gwen (Ted) Lang, Eric H. (Kathryn) Woodworth, Stephen (Ellen) Woodworth, Philip (Robin) Woodworth, Beth (John) Wilkinson and Amy (Bob) Tranquillo; sister, Phyllis (Norman) Martin; brother, Rodger (Betty) Bailey; brothers-in-law, Bob (Helen) McAneny and Kenneth “Doc” Crossan; sister-in-law, Modesta Bailey; 29 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14, at Siloam United Methodist Church, 3720 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA 19060, where friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
